India Cements to expand its cement capacity at Vishnupuram


India Cements to expand its cement capacity at Vishnupuram in Wadapalli village in Damazcherla in Nalagonda district of Andhra Pradesh. The project involves expanding Cement Plant (Clinker 2.38 MTPA to 2.856 MTPA); Cement (2.70 MTPA to 3.50 MTPA. Available limestone reserves from Vishnupuram and Krishnapuram mine will be 34.155 and 262.145 million tonnes. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 700 million.

Cement manufacturing will involve crushing the limestone, raw mix preparation, homogenization, calcinations, clinckerization and cement grinding.  Enhancement in the clinker is due to manufacture of cement by the addition of fly ash. No additional kiln will be installed. Mining will be carried out by mechanized open cast mining method.
