ACC Ltd is planning to expand its cement grinding unit in Madhukunda in Raghunathpur Tehsil in Purulia district of West Bengal. The project involves setting up of grinding capacity from 0.525 mtpa to 0.60 mtpa with an investment of Rs. 35 million. No additional land will be acquired for the capacity enhancement project. Major raw material required for the capacity enhancement of the cement grinding unit is clinker, which is sourced from ACC Plants located at Chaibasa, Bargarh, Jamul. Other raw materials are Gypsum & steel plant slag, which are sourced from Rajasthan and IISCO steel plant at Burnpur respectively.
Reliance Cement is planning to set up a cement unit in Sedam Taluk in Gulbarga district of Karnataka. The project involves setting up of a 3.6 million tpa clinker unit, 5.5 million tpa cement unit and a captive power plant of 100 MW. The project is yet to get statutory clearances and is in planning stage.
Chettinad Cement Corp is planning to set up a greenfield cement plant and a captive power plant in Karnataka. The project involves setting up a cement plant with a capacity of 2.5-million tpa and a 30-MW captive power plant in Gulbarga district of Karnataka. The project is likely to cost Rs. 6,000 million.

JSW Cement to expand its grinding unit in Bilakalaguduru in Gadiveumela in Nandyal Mandal in Kurnooldistrict of Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 2580 million. The project involves expanding its cement grinding capacity from 2.2 million tpa to 4.8 million tpa by adding a slag grinding unit of 2.6 million tpa. Land required for the project is available at its existing plant.
