Cosmos Cement to set up 2.0 mtpa cement plant at Salang


Cosmos Cement is planning to set up 2.0 mtpa cement plant. The project involves setting up of a 25% OPC and 75% PPC cement unit with  1.44 mtpa capacity clinker unit along with 27 MW captive power unit in Salang Sutnga Elaka, Khelihriat in Jaintia Hills district in Meghalaya. The project will entail an investment of Rs. 10091 million. The unit will consume Limestone (5,850 TPD), Shale/Clay (405 TPD), Sandstone (650 TPD), Mill scale (125 TPD), Gyprum (335 TPD), coal (900 TPD) at fly ash (600 TPD) as raw material.  Cement manufacturing will involve raw material grinding, blending, pre-calcining, clinker formation and cement grinding and packing. AFBC boilers will be used in the proposed Coal based Captive Power plant.
